We have done lots of arts and craft activities this month, we have made more decorations for our Halloween party. Residents and staff colleagues made made bats, ghosts and witches ready to spook each other with at the party. We enjoyed making some photobooth props to ensure that we look party ready and spooky at all times.
Speaking of parties, we had the Halloween party of all Halloween parties. We helped to prepare the buffet and made bright green cakes! We must admit, they tasted much better than they looked! Residents helped the staff to hang the Halloween decorations (we say helped, we sat and shouted our orders at them whilst we sat with a cup of tea).
After that we played Halloween music and the favourite for the afternoon was the ‘monster mash’ but we also enjoyed ‘thriller’. We laughed and joked, and had such fun.
Pinata fun at Elizabeth House Care Home in Bury
It was even more entertaining when the pinata came out, no matter how hard we tried to hit the pinata nothing was happening. So in the end Louise our Manager had to cut it open as we couldn’t wait any longer to eat the goodies inside. It was a fantastic afternoon of fun, laughter and mischief – we just wish that you could have been here with us to enjoy the fun
Elizabeth House Care Home in Bury gets musical
We also needed to let our hair down with a good armchair exercise session, we have been treated to some new instruments and we love this due to the noise they produce, much to the staffs delight which makes us laugh
Remembrance Sunday at Elizabeth House Care Home in Bury
We have been making our own poppies ready for Remembrance Day. They are even nicer than the real life ones, as the ones we have made have glitter on. We love a bit of sparkle. We also made some cupcakes with beautiful wafer poppies on the top – delicious and lots of fun to do
Christmas is coming at Elizabeth House Care Home in Bury
We are going to be starting to get ready for Christmas soon – there is already talks of the staff doing a pantomime for us. Watch this space as we know their great acting skills will be lots of fun and laughter hehe!
Heartfelt poem from all at Elizabeth House Care Home in Bury
We have found this wonderful poem, which we would love to share with you all:
‘’To protect our home from covid-19,
We can only see loved ones on a computer screen.
We are cared for by such wonderful staff,
Who care for all of our needs with a smile and a laugh.
They all pull together whatever their roles,
There is plenty of food, drinks and toilet rolls!
So we just want to send a big hug and a kiss,
To all of our families who we dearly miss.’’
