During June, we spent as much time as we can outdoors in the sunshine, getting the garden ready for Summer, as well as sampling delicious Cream Teas and enjoying visits from family and friends.
Pimms in the garden
Our residents have been making the most of the Yeovil sunshine, sitting and relaxing in the garden whilst enjoying a Cream Tea and the occasional Pimms!
Visitors are back!
What a pleasure it has been to welcome more visitors into our Home – we’ve even managed to get some of them to help out in the garden – planting flowers into tubs and decorating the lily pond which is in full bloom.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make the garden look fantastic. Our residents who cannot visit the garden can now enjoy the flowers outside their rooms.
We would like to say a huge Congratulations to Lynette, one of our Carers at Ferns who recently celebrated 20 years service with us. Well done Lynette and thank you for your dedication and hard work at Ferns, it is very much appreciated.
Arts and crafts
Some of our residents have enjoyed taking part in various arts and crafts activities and have painted some lovely pictures which are now being displayed in the lounge.
Our weekly pamper sessions for ladies are very popular, and the results are wonderful. We are also continuing with our weekly shop and library trollies as mentioned in previous updates – they are also hugely popular with the residents.
It was our lovely Bob’s 90th Birthday in June. We celebrated the usual way – with a delicious cake! Happy Birthday Bob, we hope you had a fantastic day.
Staff and residents enjoyed a delicious Filipino themed lunch prepared for us by our lovely cook. It was absolutely delicious! Other themed days have been planned for the next few months – we will tell you all about it in our next update!
Thank you for reading – we hope you enjoyed finding out what we’ve been up to. With love from everyone at Ferns.
