Garden Party

On 31st August we held our annual Garden Party. The garden party was a successful event, and we raised £174.60! We are very grateful to our resident’s families who volunteered on the day serving teas, coffees and strawberries and cream. Oh, course our signature Pimm’s went down a treat with everyone. Our head chef provided a lively barbeque while guests were invited to guess the sweets in a jar for one of our games. We held two raffles, one for the bottles and one for general prizes. We do extend a thank you to all the companies that contributed to its success. The highlight of the day was Graham Mr Jukebox providing our entertainment while guests and residents danced up a storm.

Flexercise and Games

Our usual weekly activities continue with flexercise every Monday, getting those limbs moving. Afterwards, we had a good catch up over a cup of coffee and discussed the garden parties success. Our usual word game was thoroughly enjoyed with residents stretching their brains to find 147 words.

Holy Communion

Tuesday we welcomed our holy communion with Father David who visited from the local church. Next, we combined the harvest festival with a cookery afternoon in our main lounge. Our residents made chocolate crispy cakes and seemed to have a lot of fun licking the spoons afterwards.

Wake My Soul Music Group

Wake my Soul, a local music group, came to join us and bought books so our residents could join a lively singing afternoon. Thursdays, we have our regular pamper days with Kate providing hair beauty and Karen providing nail care. A great time for everyone to relax together and enjoy and a good chat.

Decorating

We’ve also been busy decorating the home with new photos, boards and cushions. Our residents have enjoyed helping us make decisions on where in their home we should put everything, to brighten the walls and add a touch of reminiscence.
