As spring slowly makes itself known, our residents have once again enjoyed the garden and making daisy chains. Weather permitting of course!

Yarn Club:

Our newest member of the activities team has started a “Yarn Club” to keep minds and fingers active. The Yarn Club welcomes any residents who have an interest in knitting or crocheting to take part. Lots of discussions were had over the different knitting patterns, different textures of yarn and the different types and sizes of needles and hooks. Some residents found just watching entertaining enough.

Poetry and Singing:

A few times a week, our residents have enjoyed poetry reading, singing along to popular 40s, 50s and 60s music whilst playing  along with musical instruments. Some residents were seen tapping their feet to the beat and some even got up to do some dancing!

We have offered personal and group bible sessions at Hillview. Some of our residents have really enjoyed it and it has lifted their spirits.

With such unpredictable weather at the moment, as well as Covid-19 and the need to keep the house well ventilated, we are delighted to have received an extremely generous donation from a shop in town called Baby Bee Crafty. Their volunteers have knitted a vast amount of lap blankets, fingerless gloves and fidget blankets for our residents.

These have been greatly received and much appreciated.

We hope you all continue to stay safe and well.

Take care – From all at Hillview House Nursing Home
