Well what a busy few weeks with activities, our monthly Holy Communion was combined with the Harvest Festival where we gave a basket of fruit and had living waters, our Christian singing group, perform. Sadly, they are retiring at the end of the year, but we wish them all the best!
The weekly quiz went down well, and everyone was very competitive. We are now all at level 4 on our quiz, which is quite difficult, but we are all enjoying it.
Every Thursday, we continue our hair and nail pamper day, which leaves our residents feeling and looking beautiful.
Monday mornings we enjoy our flexercise class where we all keep fit and keep as mobile as possible even if we just concentrate on the upper body.
We made jewellery for the first time with bracelets and coloured beads. Everyone seemed to enjoy this activity thoroughly so we will be doing it again in the future. Even those who didn’t take part were thought of and had some gifts made for them.
Tops nursery visited and sang some lovely songs for us. All the children were aged 4 and under, and our residents can’t wait for them to return in the future.
We were well entertained by the Broadwindsor Jammers who had everyone’s feet tapping along to the music. We are all looking forward to their next visit. Our next entertainment was a return visit from Justin who plays his guitar and sings a bit of the Hank Marvin era.
We had a lovely outing with some residents to start the annual Christmas shopping. We went into Yeovil town where we all enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee; thankfully the weather was kind for this time of year. We all observed the 2 minutes silence in remembrance of the people who served and lost their lives. We also remembered the animals which now have their purple ribbon.
