September Update from Moorfields Care Home in Bury.

At Moorfields Care Home in Bury this month, we have been very busy as usual. As its getting colder we have been staying inside more to stay toasty and warm. https://churchlakecare.com/moorfields-care-home-in-bury/

Halloween at Moorfields Care Home in Bury

We have started to decorate Moorfields ready for Halloween. Balloons, banners and creepies everywhere. We even have some pretend cobwebs, we did tell the housekeepers that if they didn’t keep the home so spotless; we could get them for free! As you can see from the pictures, we have really gone to town this Halloween. We all enjoyed watching the staff blowing the balloons up and seeing who would be out of puff first – we think we could do a better job!

We have been very busy making pumpkins, bats and ghosts to decorate the home with. They are very spooky indeed and doing this kept us all out of trouble.

Spa Days at Moorfields Care Home in Bury

The staff are always pampering our residents. Our ladies are still enjoying their sessions with our new appointed hairdresser Sara (our senior carer). Our other senior Carol has been keeping all of our nails gorgeous by giving us weekly manicures. We all like the pink nail varnishes – to make the boys wink of course.

Reminiscence Therapy

We have enjoyed reminiscing about old times this month. We have looked through old photographs and enjoyed thinking about happy times with our families.

Birthday Fun at Moorfields Care Home in Bury

During September it was our lovely manager Louise’s birthday – we all enjoyed singing happy birthday and laughing as instead of a cake, the staff put candles in her fish and chips! We all put our best singing voices on – even the staff tried, but they aren’t as good as we are!

Baby Boom!

Our ladies and gents all enjoy cuddles with our lovely therapy dolls Alison and John – these were named by one of our residents; Ellen. These are the best kind of baby cuddles as they always sleep and never cry! We talked with the staff about when our children were little and how they kept us up all night.

X-Factor!

We have been listening to music and having a little dance with the staff as usual. We love songs by Elvis, Tom Jones and Roy Orbison. The staff keep dancing, even though we have told them they aren’t very good – we hope they don’t quit their day jobs!

Staff Board at Moorfields Care Home in Bury

There has been a board with all of the staffs pictures on put up in the foyer, the residents have enjoyed looking at this and laughing at the staff’s pictures, some of them look like mug-shots. We can’t wait until you can all visit us again as we miss our families dearly and come and have a look (more likely a laugh) at this too. We are all keeping safe at Moorfields and are hoping you all are too.
