Staff Updates Holmewood Residential Care Home
I would like to say a big congratulations to Katy Baker. Katy is now successfully trained to be a Senior carer for Holmewood Residential Home. She has had a great start to the year, promoted to Senior Carer. Katy passed her exams for her Diploma in Care level two and is now starting her level 3 Diploma in Care. We wish Katy all the best for the future.
For Valentines day, we held a social distancing two meters apart afternoon tea. A big thank you goes out the kitchen and care departments. Organising the food, decorations and going that extra mile for our residents. Well done, our residents loved it!
Spring at Holmewood Residential Care Home in Cockermouth
The flowers are starting to blossom which means spring is upon us. How exciting! I know each day, I myself look forward to discussing the weather and seeing the end of winter myself. How much fun will it be come 21st June when national lockdown ends. We can all pop across to our local garden centres, as well as seeing what flowers are growing. Not forgetting going for afternoon tea as well!
We have had a special birthday in February, our Peggy celebrated her 100th Birthday. Peggy enjoyed her special day with the other residents and care staff. We held a social distancing special tea for the celebrations. Peggy received her cared from the Queen but the most important thing was that Peggy was being able to Facetime her daughter. It was brilliant!
The residents of Holmewood have all had their first Vaccine. Huge thanks goes out to Cockermouth Surgery staff. They are going to extreme lengths to ensure the vaccine is being rolled out across West Cumbria. As well as helping us keep our residents safe.
