June at Axbridge Court Nursing Home was a mixed bag of delights! Sunshine and showers, wind and storms – we’ve had it all, but nothing marred the spirits of our lovely residents!

Sing-a-long with Maria!

We kick started the month with a visit from our popular local singer Maria, who sang her way through the decades with our ladies and gentlemen thoroughly enjoying joining in!

Bloomin’ lovely garden

The gardens of Axbridge Court came into bloom with the help of our savvy residents and friends who tended to our beautiful flowers and shrubs in between showers.

‘Doodle Days’ and gentle exercise

We decided to have ‘Doodle Days’ where we all participate in adult colouring, this led to lots of avid chat and reminiscence and some beautiful art work. We have also continued with our gentle exercise classes which have gained in pace and number.

Axbridge Wall of Fame

Our reisdents love to share stories of their lives. We now have a wall of fame in the Home and each month a resident tells the richness of their lives and shares their stories. This have proven to be really popular and is so very interesting and inspiring to listen to.

Flower arranging

Our residents have enjoyed some flower arranging mornings, where we have used some of the blooms and foliage from our garden mixed with fresh cut flowers. This proved to be a highly popular activity, and resulted in some beautifully arranged flowers.

Read and Return trolley

The trolley is available to staff and residents and is a simple way to keep everyone reading and is a very familiar experience for our residents. We have all chosen books since our childhoods which has evoked lots of lovely memories.

Coffee Morning

June came to an end with a cream tea and coffee morning involving lots of chatting and laughter and was well attended by our residents.

That’s it for now – we hope you are all safe and well.

With love from Tricia and everyone at Axbridge Court
